Hi, I am new here :)

I have struggled with hyper symptoms the last year but doctors keep sending me away saying my TSH is within normal range. It is now 0.72 and my hair has been falling out for a month! The problem is I don't know if the hair loss is purely thyroid (going to do more blood tests today to check ALL t4, t3 etc) or medication I took a month ago for Ulcerative Colitis (Yes! I am lucky enough to have another autoimmune disease). I feel at such a loss because doctors keep turning away from actual symptoms and only look at results. My hair has halved in a month and I don't know what to do!
Anyone on here have Colitis or another a/immune disease that has experienced excessive hair shedding?? confused

I'm losing my hair right now too. I have hashimotos. I need to give my Dr a call. My hair is so thin right now.

I have had hair loss and bad breakage of my hair...with Graves which is hyperthyroid. SInce getting my thyroid readings better and now in remission, hair has improved. I also used Rogaine on hair to speed up growth.

Thyroid disease can definitely cause substantial hair loss. So can most of the drugs used for inflammatory bowel disease. Some people have taken biotin and felt it helped with hair regrowth. I haven't experienced severe hair loss, so can't testify to this myself. The hair loss in either case is reversible. Bringing the thyroid into balance will reverse hair loss from that cause. Hair loss from medications often decreases with time, and almost always reverses when the medication is discontinued. Good luck!
