Oh and I'm on imitrex for migraines. I take all my other meds 4-5 hours after taking synthroid on empty stomach

Hi,
Thyroxine prescribed if your TSH is high and not low, that is because TSH goes counter intuitive !
25 mcg/day is a very low dose, and most likely, will be increased according to your next blood test.
You should retest your levels in six to eight weeks since you started the Synthroid .

I've been taking levothyroxine for ove 25 years plus many more medications for other issues. There was a time that I took the Levo on an empty stomach with other meds that also required an empty stomach and then 2 hours later took the morning dose of the rest of my meds. However, about 15 years ago i started taking all of my am meds including Levothyroxine at same time as meds had changed and there was no issue of problems taking them together. My tsh levels have been shifting significantly every 4 months or so and my endocrinologist now wants me to take Levo on an empty stomach as she thinks the absorption either from food or other meds are causing mayhem for my thyroid. I've done this for four days and my stomach hurts so much after I take it in the am until I take my other meds with food. Is there anything I can eat or take with Levo that would still be considered an empty stomach that may make me less nauseous. Would crackers or pretzels defeat purpose? My dad suggested acidophilus but I'd have to ask nephrologist if that's ok. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

The best way to take Levo is to take it on an empty stomach with water ONLY and to wait at least one hour before drinking or eating any thing, also other medications/vitamins/minerals should be taken FOUR hours away from the time of taking Levo.

I was told an empty stomach was best way to take Levo however it's really bothering my stomach and I wondered if there was anything I could do to deter this. Anything to counter act the nausea I feel between when I take it and when I'm allowed to eat.

I my self do not know about such a thing, you might want to ask your doctor, but be careful that many medications affect the absorption of Levo specially antacids and calcium supplements.

Are you taking generic levo or brand name? have you tried brand name like Levoxyl or Tirosint? Tirosint is minimal with fillers and binders and maybe will suit you better, but DO NOT change the manufacturer without consulting with your Endo since this can affect your levels and you will need to adjust the dose.
