Chemo brain but not on chemo?

One of my friends had thyroid cancer but never had chemo and she has serious problems with her memory now. Has anyone else here experienced that?

Thyroid issues can affect your memory.
I'm hypothyroid and my memory is terrible.

Being ill in general can effect your brain power/functioning.
