Ok well I decided that I'm going to go to the doc and get retested for my thyroid after reading up some more on it. I really am thinking that it could be the cause of my problems. I convinced myself of this when I read up all of the possible symptoms and also noticed that my nails and cuticles are all dried out, my memory is absolutely terrible, my focus is terrible, my energy levels are absolutely 0, and been having sexual issues too.
I was reading back on some of the older posts here and it actually calmed me down some about my diagnosis in the past. When I first felt the symptoms a year and a half ago they were strong and I didn't know how to deal with them. My new doctor at that time prescribed me an anti-psychotic medicine and told me I was experiencing bipolar mania symptoms because of my absolute inability to focus and didn't sleep for 5 days with an insane headache. One of the older posts was good because someone said that often this is what happens, that a thyroid problem can mimic many different illnesses and could often be misdiagnosed. I'm hoping that because my mother had it that hopefully this is the diagnosis that I'm suffering problema nd I'll start being able to start feeling better.
First things first though, what do I request that my doctor test for? What levels should my thyroid be at?
My main complaints and problems that I'm thinking are coming from a thyroid problem are
Extreme lack of energy
Lack of ambition
Feeling numb
Inability to concentrate
Terrible memory
Dry and cracking nails and cuticles
Sleeping problems (takes forever for me to fall asleep, been getting a little better the last 2 weeks for some reason though)
Headaches
Trembling hands
Feeling of just wanting to do absolutely nothing
