So here's my story in a nutshell.
I was diagnosed with Graves (hyper) back in 95. In 99 they removed 1/4 of my thyroid in hopes it would start working right.
My thyroid went dormant for about 10 years. Then it woke back up and I went from hypo back to hyper. I was on meds for a couple of years and then it started working right so the Dr. took me off the meds.
After Dr. took me off my meds I started to develop anxiety/panic issues along with heart palpatations and was put on meds (Effexor) for that.
In Dec 2010 I developed huge nodules ( cancer free) on the remaining portion of my thyroid and had a TT Feb 2011.
After doing some research about thyroid disorders and anxiety, I decided to quit taking the effexor. I don't think i really needed it to begin with...I think it was all thyroid related.
Since the surgery things have been okay. It seems like it's taking so long for me to be my normal self.
Dr. just increased my synthroid to 100mcg. 2 days ago after blood work came back TSH 7.25
How long does this take to get into your system.
The symptoms I have are: tiredness, muscle weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations, cold hands/feet, joint pain in my hands/knees, starting to gain a few pounds.
Some days symptoms are worse than others. Like yesterday i was short of breath and my heart seemed like it was palpating alot. Today I'm tired and my arms feeling like they weight 500lbs. I tried to flat iron my hair and I couldn't do it...my arms just wouldn't hold out...lol
I have increased my vitamins intake: daily vitamin for woman, calcium, Fish oil, B-complex.
I know there are others out there in cyber space that have gone through this or are currently going through this
Does anyone have any words of wisdom/ experience
