HELP! I think I got hyperthyroidism! please I need answers

Hi my name is steven I'm 21 years of age ! I'm looking for help, the past 5 years I've been struggling with something but doctors can't figure out what's wrong... I did all sorts of tests already and they come back normal . That's what the doctors tell me ! My concern is," is something not being monitored close enough or what!!! 2 years ago they put me on antidepressants , fluoxitine 20 mg, and I'm finding they don't help I still got my symptoms.... My symptoms are" night sweats, feeling depressed, fatigued, poor concentration, nervousness always tired , getting up in the morning and feels like I didn't sleep still tired, horrible muscle pain especially neck pain, somedays I can't stand it no more, sex drive and desire is low, foggy vision, loosing weight, irritatability, intolerance to heat. And etc." The reason why I contacted you guys is I need help and I took TSH tests they came back normal .9. And the range is .3 to 3. I did a antibody test I did the t3 and t4 they all came back normal!! But my sysmptoms are just like hyperthyroidism but doc said its ok... And I'm thinking its my thyroid. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have really been having problems. You
say that you have had all sorts of tests. I found a very good article about diagnosing
hyerthyroidism/Graves disease. It mentions the TSIab test that hypoHashimoto talked about
and calls it Thyroid Receptor Antibodies (TRAb) / Thyroid-Stimulating Immunoglobulins (TSI).
Also mentions having a radioactive iodine uptake (RAI-U). Did you have either of those
tests?

If you still are having problems, I would recommend a second opinion, if  you live

near one, going to a teaching hospital or at least a clinic that specializes in endocrine

diseases. You know your body and you know that there is something wrong, so keep

asking questions until you find someone who has the answers. Good luck. Let

While you are waiting to see the endocrinologist, you could ask your doctor to run
the thyroid antibody test for Graves disease, TRab (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
Receptor antibody). From Mary Shomon's site:

TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb) are seen in most patients with a history of, or who currently have, Graves' disease. Testing is usually done for a specific type of stimulating TRAb that goes by several different names, including:
•Thyroid-Stimulating Immunoglobulins (TSI)

•TSH stimulating antibodies (TSAb)

Thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins (TSI) can be detected in the majority - some estimates say as many as 75 to 90 percent - of Graves' disease patients. The higher the levels, the more active the Graves' disease is thought to be. (The absence of these antibodies does not, however, rule out Graves' disease.) Less commonly, some people with Hashimoto's disease also have these antibodies, and this can cause periodic short term episodes of hyperthyroidism.

That test might be enough to diagnose Grave's disease. Let us know what you find out.

Initially I was tested for TSH,FT3,FT4, since my TSH was elevated, my doctor ordered antiTGab and TPOab which came back elevated too, then he ordered ultrasound of the thyroid to test for nodules, I guess this is the procedure.

Later I found that my Vit D is low also.
