Hi! I am a 29 year old female that had a cardiac episode due to my hyperthyroid symptoms that resulted in 20 lb weight loss, insomnia, manic, depression, rage, etc. My endo said levels are now normal and scripted me Inderal for my tremors but NOTHING ELSE! I am literally going crazy and was told just to let the disease kill my thyroid on it's own but I am sorry that just sounds even more crazy to me. Should I get a new doc and is there anything I can do? Why wasn't I put on meds and if my body is attacking and killing the thyroid then why do I have to wait for that to happen instead of removing the problem to begin. Honestly surgery sounds way better than not knowing what will happen day to day. I am considering an anti-depresseant because I am so miserable. I really need someone who is going through this to give me some insight so I can get my life back. I am a prisoner to Hashimoto and I don't even feel like I have been properly diagnose. My initial TSH was .03 and thyroidoxidase was 1230 which my PA dismissed as a side effect of high cholesterol. I then went to another endo where she handed me a pamphlet and sent me on my way in tears no less. PLease help !
