Scalloped Tongue?

Hi - I am new to this forum.
I have not been diagnosed with a thyroid condition yet, but I was hoping to get some advice before I consult my doctor.
I am 20-years-old, and within the past couple days I have noticed a scalloped appearance to the edges of my tongue. It's also slightly swollen (not visibly, but noticeable to me) with excessive saliva production. I have done some research and learned that it is a common symptom of hypothyroidism. Do you think that this symptom warrants a visit to my MD?

I don't have a ton of other symptoms - to be honest, I probably have more symptoms that match hyperthyroidism. Along with the swollen tongue, I am overweight (but no dramatic weight gain or loss recently). I have bad (medically undiagnosed) anxiety associated with rapid heart rate, sweaty, hot hands. I also am usually hot with skin warm to the touch. No major bowel changes, although I do occasionally get diarrhea when I am anxious about something big.
