Skin Discoloration

My daughter is Hypothyroid from birth.
She was born fair.
The day she started with thyroid medication her skin started getting dark.
Since her TSH level is under control with medication we didnt stop medication.
But her skin is dark and looks very artificial.
Any suggestion how to counter act skin discoloration.

Hi Chib-I too have skin changes. Dark spots smaller than a dime on my face, chest and back. White "freckles" on my shins and calves. I just started meds. So IMO it's not the meds. Maybe just part of the disease? Sorry I don't know anymore, but skin pigment changes is definitely part of the package. Good luck hon.

Do you or dad have fair skin? Are you or dad or grandparents olive toned? We do darken a bit as we age with the sun.. Maybe your daughter is in the sun more? Spray tan? I have a sister who had hashimotos as a little girl and she isnt darker she is more red.. I've had hashimotos since 20. I havent noticed darker skin except areas where I used to have a tan.
