Help! Microcalcifications on thyroid nodules

I’m new to all of this. I mostly hang out on the ulcerative colitis board. I had a chest CT that incidentally found an enlarged thyroid and multiple nodules that the suspect have microcalcifications. I’m waiting on an ultrasound to get scheduled. I’ve done a lot of reading and it seems like microcalcifications are associated with cancer. I wanted to know if anyone here had had microcalcifications that weren’t cancer.
