What kind were you using? I use the kids wipes with aloe, and have been for about
4yrs. I can't remember the last time I used paper. Try using ones with aloe, it might help you. If you were useing ones with aloe, try another brand maybe.

I use the cottonelle wipes with vitamin E and aloe, and they're very soothing. Some of the cheaper varieties have alcohol in them and can really irritate your skin.

Most commerical wipes designed for adults and babies, have a cocktail of chemicals in them (i.e.) chlorine bleach, synthetic preservatives, dioxins, colours, artificial fragrances. These chemicals often react with us in horrible ways (i.e.) rashes, eczema, dermatitis, breathing difficulties, allergic reactions, sore throats and headaches. You may not have a reaction immediately but prolonged use over many weeks, months or years, may eventually lead to some sort of health issue. To protect yourself, only buy certified organic products. They may be a little bit more expensive but in the long run you have to think of your health. I often buy sanitary pads from an American company called “Seventh Generation” because they are chlorine-free and since using them, skin irritation issues “down there”, have completely vanished. I am pretty sure they make wipes as well.

Sorry meant to say:
If you can't buy certified organic, then stick to products that are as natural a possible.
Read the labels and avoid chlorines, bleach, fragrances, alcohol and artificial anything. (i.e.) avoid labels that show a long list of numbers and scientific names that you can’t pronounce, let alone understand.

random thing here, but most of those are not safe for use with a septic tank, they don't break up quick enough or something. They can cause your tank to fill up more quickly.

I have used several brands, including Charmin and Scott flushable wipes and didn't have any problems with them. I find them soothing. I did use a generic brand once and found them to dry up quickly and not be quite as soothing.

sometimes just a dab of desetin or vaseline on regular TP works for me. It is dry and protects the butt skin. I find the blood to be very irritating to my rear end personally and the wipes can burn if skin is delicate.
