Given that we're not supposed to eat fruit/vegetables skins that are hard to digest, I was wondering if it would be worthwhile investing in a juicer? Does anyone else use one? I thought it may be a good way to make such foods easier to digest?
Cheers.
Drinking (organic) vegetable and fruit juices are some of the very best healing tools on this planet. You could also include juicing fresh herbs and wheatgrass too.
Pure vegetable juice or pure fruit juice is a wonderful idea for health and well being (maybe not for diabetics though – may need to dilute the juice with water or check with their doctor first)
I understand that fasting on pure juice for three to five days is recommended for a great detox. I have done a one day fast on water and a one day fast on juice. However, one day was hard enough, so I am building up to the longer detox slowly.
The most important keys are:
1) Having a good quality juicer.
Expect to pay $500 - $1200 for a really decent juicer, depending on type and model.
Cheaper juicers cost around $50 - $250 but they will decimate the life giving nutrients from the juice.
2) Use certified organic produce.
If it is not possible to use certified organic, then use the very best produce you can source.
I eat organic because it tastes better.
