Could be either I guess....could be an abscess? Could be IBS? Could be gas? Could be hernia? Could be inflamed ovary?

Has it been continual or just recent?

You definitely should get your doc to check it out....best to be safe in knowing rather than guessing and obsessing about it...at least, that's how I'd be.

I have had big gas bubbles give me hard spots. If it does not pass soon go to Doc's cause
it may be something else but I do not know what. If it is gas there will be major relief
when passed. I remember a flare a few years ago that gave me hard spots every 3 days like clock
work. I hope that's all it is.

Does it hurt? Last year, my gma had a hard lump on her side so I took her into the doctor to be on the safe side. It turned out that it was just stool and that she wasn't getting enough fiber. But if it hurts and doesn't go away, then yes, you should see or call your doc.

Well a girl posted something in the IBS to my reply.. she said she had a bad gallbladder and one of her symptoms were a lump feeling in her left side too.. Have you had your gallbladder checked?
