being sick after going to the loo

does anyone else throw up after going to the loo. its started happening to me i go to the loo then i feel sick and throw up just a mouth full then feel much better. does anyone know why we do this and what makes us sick or why we feel so sick.xxxxx help xxx

Yes, this used to happen to me. Vomiting is just another symptom of UC. Fevers too.

Sometimes I used to think my vomiting was from vagal stimulation, because I'd also get cold, clammy, nauseated and feel like I was going to pass out. A couple of times I did pass out. But other times, it was just plain old UC vomiting. Fortunately I didn't do it often, only at the worst point in my flare.

I've never had it happen to me, but have had extreme nausea.

Have you discussed it with your doctor? I think since it's an event that happens during bms, you should possibly get an upper gastro series done to make sure nothing else is going on in there.

I would suspect that the pressure from expelling bms could be forcing the sphincter at the stomach/esophagus to open a bit and release some contents.

Definitely get it checked out and possibly the doc will put you on some meds to prevent the acid from causing damage to the parts above the stomach.

Are you not on any meds at all honeybee?

Are your symptoms diarrhea or constipation with urge to have bms?

i worked a ten hour night shift doing desk duty at work and had to hit the bathroom every twenty minutes and was blasting from the rear while vomiting into a garbage can. worst night ever. other then that, havent had the problem.

This is interesting to me because at the time I had the vomiting (and it was always after a bowel movement or it was totally spontaneous) by GI insisted on running all kinds of upper GI tests as he was convinced the vomiting was something else, like Crohn's. After several years of vomiting with no exact cause found, I made the consultation with my surgeon for jpouch surgery. Right smack on his wall was a list of the symptoms of UC and vomiting was on it! I was surprised that my CR surgeon knew more about the symptoms of UC than my GI did. It's been 8 years since my surgery and I have not vomited since which convinces me it was the UC.

no im only on asacol and i dont think they do anything. im going to ask if i can go on steriods becasue beause im really ill always run to the loo feel sick and i am always tired. i would like to try new drugs but because im only 17 they try to look look at any other drugs. i might have to go bone strengthners if i go on steriods again hope i get them cant wait to me in remission for a couple of mothes xxx is that bad that im only on asacol

I always have nausea especially after eating. If I over eat I always vomit. It sucks!

for months and months and months, i vomited everytime i went to the toilet practically.

at least once a day anyway.

the pain from going to the loo was so bad it would make me puke. i had to have plastic bags in every bathroom for me to vomit in.

and sometimes it was lots of vomit, sometimes not so much.  it always happened while on the can.  i looked like a fountain as it was comin out both ends at once.

but i puked at least once a day when going to the toilet.

my doc said that it is not uncommon to vomit from acute bellly pain.
