Hekela, it depends on what's called your "transit time." That's the time from when you swallow food until when it exits the other end. Usually when you're flaring it's shorter, because your inflamed colon passes it along too quickly. "Normal" is 24-36 hours, but it can be longer or shorter, even for apparently healthy people. I can always measure mine by eating some corn. Oddly enough, it never bothered my colon, but there were times it would reappear the morning after I had it for dinner the evening before.
