Hello All - Starting back on Remi after 3 month absence

Well after several infections and more diabetic foot issues we are back today for an infusion.  Glad to get it as my symptoms were returning.  I am still having severe body aches and pains and sometimes a low grade fever, but the doctor cleared me this week for an infusion.

On the house front, we have had to get a housekeeper since I can't do my chores the way I used to.  My new found life after colitis gave me great comfort as being participatory, but now with two major diseases and an inability to stand or walk other than for a few minutes...I now really just fill my day with PT, reading, and napping.  The fatigue and pain is gruesome - not to mention the painkillers.

I will give you an update after my infusion.

Bob....it's hard to hear all you're going through. I hope the remicade is able to give you some much needed relief.

I understand your desire to do what you can, it's a good idea to have a housekeeper so that level of worry isn't constantly on your mind.

I really wished you lived closer to me so I could be of some help to you my dear friend. But the most I can do is send a cyber ((hug)) your way and wish for the best. It's good to know that you've been cleared to start the Remi again - that mean things are looking up yes? Hang in there and know we are always here for you when you need us.

  Can't believe the time you are having buddy.This must be such a horrible time for you at the minute.I hope the docs are doing everything they can for you.We are sending some healing vibes your way big guy and i hope they get to work quick.

Thank you my dear friends, I really appreciate your words and hugs.  The remi went well, and I look forward to the kicking in-as it were.  I have been having blood movements with a bit more urgency again. 

I am going to a muckity muck surgeon from Johns Hopkins who does leading edge (I refuse to use the word cutting edge here) surgery.  His specialty is the charkot diseased feet and ankles - removing as much of the diseased and fractured bones and replacing with plastic and steel implants.  Bionic Bob.  I have been waiting to see him for 8 months, and I am told I will get 15 mnutes with him.  I am nervous here but the surgery holds promise.  I am told though that about 75% of the patients are not eligible for one reason or another.  We will see.  My minister/friend is taking me - Thank God.

Bob, I'll be praying that you are one of the patients that is indeed eligible for the surgery. Being bionic can be kind of a cool thing! I like the name "Bionic Bob!" Let us know how it turns out my friend. Just one more thing; your minister friend sounds incredible. Glad that he is there to be with you.

Bob I will also have you in my prayers. you are well accompanied by the minister and God of course, you can't go wrong!

Hey Bob. Glad to hear you're able to handle another dose of Remi before the UC kicks in to make matters more difficult.

Not sure if you've "played" on wikipedia.com before or not, but when I'm stuck at home sick and weak as a kitten I find it is great for filling in hours of time. I find you can easily bounce from article to article for ages and it keeps my mind so active I can temporarily forget how crap I feel. Maybe it'll do the same for you.
