Hi Tipoil- I posted a response for you on the IBS site. I came looking for you here as I felt badly about
the lack of response. Our forum has been slow lately and I don't know why. So, sorry about
that. There are a couple of people with both on that forum, not many. Actually, we do get some visitors from the Crohn's site too. Anyway, in short, your sx do match IBS but basically IBS is any sx that cannot be explained by any other medical reason. And I mean this respectfully :) Now, I only have IBS (a very good friend has UC so I am unfortunately more familiar with this disease than I'd like to be!!) so I don't know what it is to have both illnesses. the dominant sx of IBS are normally diahrea (sp.?) and cramping. I started with a severe nausea, losing 24 pounds in 3 weeks and then struggled primarily with nausea for the better part of 2 years. I was constantly battling gagging, and dry heaving but had no pain and only on/off diahrea. 3 years later, I have intermittent nausea (that is very tolerable now compared to what it was) and intermittent bouts of severe abdominal pain that leads to vomiting, sometimes explosively. I have only very occasional D and am prone to constipation at times. I have had every medical test in the book and all are negative. So, they gave me a dx of IBS. Anyhow, I really hope you feel better and good luck with all that's on your plate. carell
