What ARE the immediate side effects of Remicade?

Just had my first infusion 6 days ago. All of the long term side effects are discussed everywhere. What is actually supposed to happen to me? So far I'm just really tired and basically have had no BMs at all for two days now. Also I hear you get really sick after the second dose??

I've never gotten sick. I just got home from my regular infusion. I'm a little tired, but I'll have a normal evening. I may go to bed a little early tonight. The only other effect I noticed was my symptoms getting better after my second infusion. It sounds like it's already started working for you!

I've had 3 treatments and the only side effect I've had was being very tired. The first day after my treatment, I don't have a BM but after that I seem to be Ok. :-)

I have now been on remicade for 1 and a half years and have never had a problem. The only thing is I am tired after getting it but it is working wonders. I actually can work full time and pretty much eat what ever I want.

I have been on it for three years and it does sometimes make me tired afterwards. Although it did take till almost my third infusion until I felt relief.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I hope to get back to work full time too. I was just released from the hospital after a 12 day stay. Failed IV steroids--- this was my first flare and first everything!! Fulminent pan colitis with mega colon ruled out!! Now just on prednisone and remicade, but remicade doesn't sound so bad. I'm a nurse, but soooo much new information to try to "digest".
