So I'm sure alot of you have read a few of my posts over the last 6-8 months including my "tell me your surgery story". We've had so much trouble with prednisone and he got so sick over the last year.
Well he had a CT scan on Friday and the Dr. called Tuesday to tell my husband that he had air in the colon wall, was severely anemic suddenly and should go check into the ER. We were going to go talk to a surgeon on Friday about
getting the surgery.
Basically they told us that any moment his colon might perforate so they did an emergency CT scan to double check the Friday scan and decided that either today or tomorrow he needs to get his colon removed. They were too booked today so tomorrow at 2pm my husband finally is going to get rid of that diseased colon that has ruined the last year of our lives.
After the colon is out he can get off prednisone, get healthy (get back to work!) and we can start living life how newlyweds should be.
It's finally looking up!

Good luck to Eric with his surgery. I'm so glad they found this. The air in the colon wall is a really scary sign, because it signifies that there's already some leakage into the wall, and rupture is a definite possibility.
Hope this will be the start of a new (and better) life for both of you.

I read one person's post when they shared their story about
having their colon removed.. They said as soon as they woke up from the anesthesia, they could feel that they were healed... I hope your husband feels the same way as soon as he
opens his syes!!
Good luck wishes for Eric, and for you, UC Wife, You are truly a blessing to your husband and I hope your lives take a huge turn for the better!!
God Bless you both :)

this is a good thing, believe that! I will keep him in my thoughts. I guess you are going to need a new sign-in name, huh?

Good luck with that process! Lots of prayers going your way to make sure it all goes as planned. You guys are in maryland? I lived my first 23 years in Maryland, went to UMDCP, and then moved to Arizona because my wife got a job here. I feel your pain about
being newlyweds and not being able to do the things are you "supposed" to do. My wife and I were like that at first but things get better! Good luck!
