Hi MoonShadow,
Can you please adivse where you buy MultiGest Enzymes capsules from and how much they cost. I am in Sydney. Are they available from a local Health Food Outlet? Also are you able to advise on how many tablets you take and how long before food ?
Thanks
Joan
Hi Joan
There are two main places I buy mine in Sydney:
1) Go Vita Vitamins
2) Macros
I am sure they are sold in other places too.
I buy a brand from BIOCeuticals. I am sure there are other brands available but both my doctor and naturopath recommended this particular brand.
My naturopath always gives me good stuff that really works, so I tend to stick with her advice. I also use to use fish oil tablets and ultra muscleze powder from the BIOCeuticals range – both were absolutely first class products too.
I copied this info from their website because the link is far too long to repeat here:
“MultiGest Enzymes provides a complement of plant derived enzymes to assist in the breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins, lactose and cellulose (fibre). By providing nutritional support for healthy digestion, supplemental enzymes may help to maintain general well-being and healthy nutritional status. A comprehensive blend of seven plant derived enzymes to assist healthy digestion”.
You will NOT be able to buy this directly off the shelf. You will need to speak with the naturopath at the store first. Tell her about your general health background, UC severity, medications, diet etc….and she will let you know if the product is right for you.
The MultiGest Enzymes come in two sizes. I buy the cheaper size of 90 capsules. I think it is probably better value if you buy the bigger size of 180 capsules but I always seem to be short of cash at the time of purchasing.
They are either $22.00 a tub or $33.00 a tub of 90 capsules. I am pretty sure they are $33.00, I can’t quite remember as I haven’t brought a tub since early November.
The instructions on the tub say “adults take 1 – 2 capsules, up to three times daily. Take with a full glass of water with a meal or 30 mins before or after a meal”.
However, my naturopath gave me slightly different instructions to suit my own personal particular needs, so I don’t exactly follow the recommended instructions.
There is not much point taking it, if it is not going to be right for you. However, from my understanding so far, enzymes are extremely important to human health. By the time we are adults, we have lost most of our stomach acids and so we have trouble correctly digesting, absorbing and utilising vitamins and minerals from our food.
I could be confused about this, as I am new to it too and still in the learning stages. Prior to September 2007, I was not even aware about the importance of enzymes, now the information seems to be popping up in everything I read or watch.
Hope this helps?
