I had a realization. The mucosal barrier in the guts is a main form a defense for the body. Right now, mine is a bloody, ulcerated mess. No wonder I might be catching something. Add to that the fact that I really haven't slept in two weeks and I see the perfect equation for additional illness.
Update from doctor's appt - actually with nurse practitioner: we're playing the "stay at 40 mg of pred for another week and see how you feel" game. I'm not too happy. At least they saw fit to call in a script
for some Ambien. We'll see how that goes. I've never taken anything more than Benedryl/Simple Sleep for sleep issues.
She (NP) also suggested calling my PCP about
something for anxiety. Just what I want - another bleeping pill. Although with the evil mood swings I've had - it might be worth it.
Now I'm off to research the Ambien (which as a generic is a cheap fix!) to see what I can and can't take with it. Like PAIN MEDS?
Oh - they sent me for blood work too. NP is concerned about anemia (rightfully so) and said my eyes don't look quite right - like I don't feel well. I wonder what gave her that idea. I got a little testy at Quest after waiting 15 minutes for a blood draw. The tech said something like "having a bad day?" I wanted to snap! No, I come here for fun!!! I just mumble - "I don't feel well" and left it at that.
