Steroid enemas

newucpat, I *think* hydrocortisone and cortifoam enemas are the same thing. On my proctofoam box, it says that it has hydrocortisone; the difference between cortifoam and proctofoam is that cortifoam has a bit more steroid and no anesthesic (sp?) effect. My GI told me that the proctofoam will take 3-4 weeks to fully kick in and he told me to stay on it for 3 months as well. I asked him about tapering and he said if I keep on it long enough, then I can just stop cold turkey.

Anyone know the amount (mg) of steriod u get in foam ? And about what mg amount u absorb ??

*asking because high amounts of steriods effects my blood sugar
