My GI told me about
a new med that is suppose to be approved in July. I guess it is a 5ASA drug but more targeted to release half way through your colon. So those of us who have left-sided colitis will benefit most from this. He says that it is more targeted and I will get to take much less of the drug than the present 9 colazal I am taking now. Sounds good to me, but does anyone know about
this. I can't remember the name of it? and I wanted to look into it before my next scope so we can discuss it.

Not seen the name of it. I did run across a nicotine enema pilot study looking for it though, lol. http://www.hindawi.com/GetArticle.aspx?doi=10.1155/2008/237185

I haven't heard anything about
a new 5-ASA. I know there are late-stage studies going on with a new combination drug that includes prednisone and a 4-ASA, Colazal I believe.
