My wrists and are all swollen and my hands are so painful at the minute.Any ideas folks.Not a good time as i'm in recording music and finding it really hard playing guitar.I couldn't even bend my right hand today for about an hour.no fun at all!!I'm taking diclofenic sodium, not sure what else i can do!

Oh no! Could it be a colitic arthropothy? Like arthritis? I would suggests lots of water and a parafin hand dip. I've had tons of hand problems in the past and the parafin treatment (at a salon or at home) helped to loosen things up.

Heal up fast! can't wait for more tunes ;-)

My son is 2 and is dx with UC his knees swell and elbows. I was told it's a form of arthritis that goes along with UC and CD. He going to go for further blood testing to test for Rhuematoid Arthritis. It is painful he's walks around the house holding his joints saying ow, ow hurts mommy tell your GI.

Marty, this happened to me when I was taken off pred. Nasty withdrawl symptoms. Maybe the pred is causing yours...just a thought

That's an awful feeling isn't it Marty.  I too have the arthritis to go along withit.  Does warm compresses help?

nothing seems to be helping.i'm beginning to flare up a again.had some nasty cramping today and felt so nauseaus.i'll get through it though!thanx for all your replies

hi marty, my joints swell, i have had various swollen joints for around 3 months. currently its the top of my right foot, and i work on my feet all day, even pain killers dont take the edge off, also the base of my back. some mornings i have to roll out bed cos i cant stand up out of bed! only 31 yrs old, what a life!!! confused

Hmm, when I was hospitalized, my hand with the IV stuck in it got swollen. I thought it was cuz of the IV, but it's either the meds or my UC. wish I knew which it was. Also, the bottom of my feet get hot flashes, it gets pretty hot. I shouldve mentioned it to the doctor at the time. I will when I see him this Thurs. Hope it's not something bad.
