hey, I just wanted to let you know there is hope. i just got diag with uc, and thankfully mine has been mild, but my brother was diag in 2003 when he was only 17. at that time he was a freshman in college and his uc was so bad that he had to scope out trash cans to toss his
cookies in, along with the inevitable bathrooms. there he was, a freshman in college, and he had to take a leave of absence, move home, and be very, very ill. he was very ill for a long time. they thought he might need surgery and then he tried remicade. now he is in remission and has a great job with great benefits (wish I had that) and just bought his first condo. remember, as bad as it seems, it could be worse. imagine if it was lou gehrigs disease or something :(
