Just wondering if anyone knows much about
gallbladder problems with UC or maybe causing UC. Came to a better hospital and they are really on their game. Now looks like alot of his problem is maybe galbladder related????

Gallbladder problems do not cause UC but it could have triggered a first flare. I am not sure about
the link of gallbladder disease to UC but I do know that there is a higher incidence of GB disease if you have your colon out. Surgeons think that this is related to bile salt activity. I no longer have my colon but I still have my GB.

This is very interesting topic for me. My family has a severe history with gall bladder problems. I wonder if something to do with crappy gall bladder genetics caused or triggered my UC...

I have no idea if there's any connection but that was one of my mis-diagnosis steps when they were trying to figure out what was wrong with me. It was my 2nd surgery in 3 months to have my gall bladder removed. Granted it was in trouble but I wish they hadn't been so cut happy back then.

I had my gallbladder removed when I was only 27. I was having terrible pains that felt like a knife through my back was being twisted. Anyway the doctors said my gallbladder was totally infected/diseased.....and had to come out before it burst. My GI seemed to imply my gall bladder problem was a result of my UC, not the other way around.

A year after being diagnosed with UC I had my gallbladder out. Coincedence? I don't know.
