Fears

Changed to new 6MP recently and the dose was doubled.  Felt fine on the generic 6MP but I guess it wasn't metabolizing properly.  The day of the first dose of new 6MP dizziness started, then vomiting began.  It's now been over a week of these symptoms.  Didn't take any 6MP meds yesterday and feeling better.  Had bloodwork done and liver function is fine but the SED rate and CRP rate are elevated.  Normally UC symptoms show up with this.  Horrible joint pain is one symptom and of course the bloody stools.  But nothing.  Can I chalk this SED and CRP elevation up to body's response to new 6MP?  Maybe the dosing is too much as it's double what the first 6MP was? 

Pediatric GI says to start the 6MP again but to cut the dose in half - to 50mg day for my 60 lb daughter.  So tomorrow we're going for it.  Today was fabulous - just another fun day of summer - no symptoms of UC, no dizziness, no vomiting.....yeah!

Yes, she's been taking Lialda since January. 3 each a day. Dr said to stay on it until the 6MP kicks in. I guess it takes up to 6 months to work? She's been on the generic 6MP for 4 months.
