I am currently going to the toiler regularly after taking Picolax and am not seeing blood anymore - it is becoming more watery and showing up as yellow liquid. Even when I strain no blood comes out on the tissue or the pan - so it can't be piles or they would bleed right? And if there is inflammation then where is the blood, surely it can't have just stopped bleeding?

Is there anything I am missing? Where is the blood darn it!?

I am so sorry to keep nagging about this but has anybody else just stopped bleeding while the Picolax was getting to work? I have drived up it seems and see no blood. Either it's proof that it isn't the piles, or my inflammation or whatever it is is bleeding slowing and the Picolax is working to flush it all out without allowing the blood to pool up?

That's what I would think.....makes sense to me. Oh right, your c-scope is tomorrow.

You can make sure you tell the doc you want to be in a twilight state where you can see the monitor while he's in there. A huge benefit for me anyway.

At least you'll see what's going on......

I knew the angel Quincy would reply, thanks so much for taking the time to do so. I am noticing some blood again now and it seems to be seperate from the diarrhea in the it is red on it's own and looks fresh and doesn't appear mixed in.... dare I suggest Piles or just rapid transit? God willing it's the former.

You'll soon find out. If it's bleeding on its own, something's raw and yes, you could have opened a hemmie from the pushing.

so, are you up for being awake tomorrow to make sure you see what's going on? will your GI comply?

I am not sure I am up for being awake as the GI at the Cromwell Hospital (London) has said he will use the full hour to take a proper look and sort this out "once and for all". My anxiety wouldn't last that long surely? I'd rather wake up and be told I am well! He thinks it's Piles and IBS and if there is any inflammation then it is minor non-specific. I am dreading Chrohn's or an UC flair. I just hope God is kind to me tomorrow.

I guess if he was so sure it was Piles and IBS we wouldn't be doing the scope.

Well, you can be sure he'll take lots of biopsies...

I can understand the anxiety part.

Try to watch something on TV that you like and try to relax as much as possible without trying to overanalyze.

When is your next appointment with the doc with follow-up...or will he come and see you afteward?

I could probably have the next appointment within a day or two no problems. I have been sending the GI SMS texts with my anxiety! He saw me twice this past week just to make me feel reassured. But how can I be until it is done? The blood is driving me crazy even if it is just a little with each BM. The D is also unsual but I guess that can happen after prolonged antacid meds.

And yes, he does come and see me afterwards to tell me the news.

That's good you'll see him soon afterward.

Try to relax as best you can because you do realise there's NOTHING you will be doing or thinking that can change the prognosis.

Help yourself tonight at least....if you have any meds to help with relaxing such as antianxiety...maybe consider to take it.

Keep us posted.

when i do the colonoscopy prep, i do not bleed from the picolax.
i always bleed when i go, but not during prep for some weird reason.

why do you want to see blood so bad?

I don't want to see blood, I am just wondering where it goes during the Picolax. However, I am bleeding now at the end of each session, bright red blood into the pan.

It could be that haveing clear liquids could cause the bowels to come down a bit. ( I know i know the prep is anything but calm) But i bet that is what it is. =) Since it hasn't stopped bleeding. I would deffenently ask the GI about it. Goodluck =)

I am hoping it's my piles as it's bright red blood that is coming at the end of my now watery BM's and I have a seperate yellow water and then red bloody water. The colonoscopy will tell us more later today.

Hi  I have left sided disease and the only time I have stopped bleeding since Nov 2007 was when I did bowel prep, I think its very easy for the bowel to handle the prep and hence less trauma to the bowel wall.

Yeah the same for me Mitch however, bright red streaks of blood have been the order of the day for the latter part of the preperation, blood often on it's own and usually at the end of the liquid bowel movement. It hasn't shown to be mixing in with the poo liquid so it's either piles or the inflammation is in the rectum. I will find out soon enough.
