is facial rash steroid induced?

I have a question for anyone who may have experienced similar symtpoms. I have been on a very slow taper of pred for UC. Down to 1mg a day and almost over. On Remicade every 6 weeks. Recently I have developed a rash on the sides of my face in the nasolabeal folds that extends down the side of my mouth. It burns at times and at times it clears up. I have researched it and it could be steroid induced rosacea. I also use a cortisone nasal spray whch the research says could contribute. My UC symtoms have gotten better very slowly with the extra use of cortenemas twice to three times a week. Can too much cortenema cause this or as well too much cortenema cause inflammation over healing inside the colon as well? I am so close to feeeling like in remission, but I still get urgency first thing in the morning, and some mucus only at 6pm in the evening? Does anyone have any advice?

Hey i dont know if it the same rash but i am also on pred but 20mg and a couple of weeks ago i had a burning rash round the sides of my mouth and on my chin.... I justused this eczema cream and it went away after a few days..... U could try it as well ummmmm the brand is called Oilatum... it says it for eczema and itchydry skin conditions!!

Been there done that.....hubby had a roseacea outbreak twice. First time the antibiotic took care of it. I did not know about Healing Well at the time and the antibiotic was probably NOT the best thing to add complications to his flaring. Dove soap or Cetaphil soap is what the dermatologist asked him to use on his face.

Due to on and off prednisone it returned with a vengeance. He was prescribed a topical cream which helped but did not get rid of it. Then it turned into a seborriah(?) type thing and a different cream prescribed for that.

He has great skin and was a mess. Fortunately after he got off the prednisone as the Mayo Dr told us it did go away. It took about 2 months after that.

i had very dry skin afer coming off prednisolone for about 2 months, particularly around my mouth

dry skin was the norm for me until I was able to stay off of prednisone. And it actually worsened my acne and gave me the wonderful moon face. I really hated it. I also wondered if the colazal had anything to do with those symptoms as well?? The key for me was getting off the steroids. Good luck.
