rectum inflamed more at night

I wake up feeling great. No pressure in my rectum, no weird feeling down there.

But why at night when I am lying down to go to sleep I can feel my rectum. I can squeeze it and it causes a strange reaction where I can litterally feel it is swollen and it feels strange.

Why would this happen only at night?

Why does it feel normal in the morning?

Its got to be my UC right, or could it be internal hemmroids?

Am I the only one that has noticed this?

 

Are u laying on your side? Often bodyweight alone can cause pressure on the abdomen- even laying on your back. This technique may be a little uncomfortatable at first but it may take some pressure off. Try and prop like 3 or 4 pillows angled backward (the bottom pulled out slightly with the top further back making a ramp). Support your head and try and sleep slightly bent upward. I've done this often during flares and have noticed that also taking some sleep tea helps in knocking you out before you begin to get restless. Hope this helps.

yep. i can feel it too.
its weird feeling your organs isnt it.
i sleep with 2 pillows propped up cuz if i lay straight stretched out im really uncomfortable.
not that i can actually get comfortable at all...
