Well it has been quite a while since I gave an update on how I'm doing. I only hope that my progress is encouragement to others. A lot has changed for me in the past two months.
Last summer 2007 I had decided to go to Ozark Christian College in Joplin Mo. I wasn't going to be able to make it for the Fall Semester, I just didn't have the time to get my stuff in order to go. So I was working towards going in the Spring of '08. I took the advice of my parents and that of the college's Director of Admissions and held off until the Fall of '08 to go. I needed to raise some money and what not. Well as my siggy says I was diagnosed with UC in December of '07. As most of you know things can be a rollercoaster with UC and in May things took a turn for the worse. I was convinced that I wasn't going to be able to go to college. In July I was fortunate (and healthy enough) to attend a Chirst In Youth (CIY) conferance in California as a sponcer for my church's Youth Group. While there I was there I got some great advice from a fellow sponcer and was able to put a lot of negative stuff away for a short while. During that brief moment God revieled to me two things. The primary one was that He allowed me to have UC for a reason. He wasn't going to tell me what that was but that I was to "shut-up, quit complaining and go to school!" Some theologians might say that God wouldn't talk like that, well... someone as thick as I can be sometimes needs to be spoken to like that and God isn't too big to do it. The second thing that He revieled to me was a simple truth that I had heard before from my preacher. "Christians don't have a resource problem, they have a resourcefulness problem." (I had transfered my college savings to an IRA when I decided not to go, thus had no money to actually drive from New Mexico to Mo) Basically what that saying means is that God, the creater of the universe has all the money in the world at His disposal and will provide as His will desires.
So, to make a long story short, here I am, feeling better than ever, at Ozark Christian College, when just a few weeks ago I had given up the hope of even being able to make it. God has not only kept me healthy and feeling well, but provided the money I needed to not only drive to school, but took care of the bills I needed to pay for the past month as I need to get a new job while I'm here.
I have sucessfully dropped from 40mg of Pred down to 15, at a rate of 5mg/2weeks. I am up to 100mg of 6MP.
The side effects that I have experenced with the 6MP have been effectivly non-existant!
God is good.
