I have been suffering from what I thought was just a cold. This has been going on for 9 days now. Planning on going to the Dr. tomorrow as I suspect this may be a sinus infection. If so they will put me on an antib. I seem to remember mentioned in other posts there were some antib's that were a little more "compatible" for people with UC. I just don't remember the names. Would someone please refresh my mind? I do know that a good probiotic will be in order. Any advice on these will also be appreciated.

Just noticed thread by JRob on probiotics I thinks that pretty much takes care of my probiotic question. Thanks JRob and all for the info. Still would like input on the antib's.

Generally, stay away from those that end in 'cillin and 'cycline. They're the ones that are more prone to cause D. If your doctor thinks Zithromax would be effective, sometimes it's easier because you only have to take it for five days instead of ten.

Zithromax worked well for me with no side effects and I liked it because it was only 5 pills (1 a day). My GP said Zithromax is typically the most gentle antibiotic (least stomach side effects, like "D"). Amoxicillin also didn't cause any side effects for me (10 day course).
