After experiencing minor leakage of mucus, I decided to see my GI about it and find out if Asacol retention enemas might help. Well, after three days the mucus has completely stopped and I am one very happy camper...

Has anyone else had success with retention enemas? I guess I can't say I'm med free anymore

Surprise, sometimes Western medicine works, too. A lot of folks here swear by the mesalamine enemas. Glad you're doing better, NBT.

Ah, the rectal meds; so many have had good results using them. Good to hear you are feeling so much better, NBT!

I just had a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with pancolitis instead of what was proctitis. The doctor told me the area I was treating with the enemas (Rowasa and Cortenema) was the least inflammed. So although they didn't bring the inflammation down entirely, at least I know they're doing something.

Yes, they've helped me stop bleeding several times.

I've been on rectal meds since i was diagnosed along with oral meds don't know what i would be like without them and there not to bad you get used to them very quickly.

I love squirting mesalamine up my butt!! too bad I can't take it anymore.....

I'm a little off today......I think my new pred pimples are growing on my brain or something.
