Anyone use hospitals near Coventry?

If so hows you hospital and doctor - how often do you get appointments, how soon could you see your doctor, is he/she good or bad? I'll change mine if I can find anyone better.

If anyone has any recommendations for a private consultant I'd consider that as well.

hey im from coventry!which area are you from?

i see a GI at walsgrave hospital called Professor Nwokolo, i would recommend him; he's very considerate and always has time to give advice or in fact to hear anything you have to say.i know the department at walsgrave is snowed under with patients at the moment but i imagine you should be able to get an appointment.why have you had bad experiences with hospitals in cov?

nice to here from someone so close to home, most of the members on here are from the US

So far I join Coventry hospital and my 1st appointmtment was supposed to be Dr Unitt - but it was a guy I saw - so mabe not Dr Unitt? Nwoloko rings a bell I wonder if it was him that I saw, he seemed to listen OK but didn't seem very alert and at one point I stopped talking I'm sure he was nodding off..... Also he didn't know what VSL3 is and then looked it up in a book to say it wasn't available on prescription (which I'm sure it is and have seen forum posts from people prescribed it by their GP's and specialists in the UK...) So I have a colonoscopy and the Dr doing the procedure (Ash) gives me 2 weeks of predfoam. So fine but no follow up appointment is booked except (I think) the usual 3 month one which is 2 months after my 2 week supply of predfoam runs out - and what about my usual meds I guessed that I should continue Asacol and stop pentasa supposotories but this was only a guess. So I've pestered the nurse as to what I should do about the predfoam - should I have taken it for 2 weeks or continuously? Stopped the pentasa's ? who knows.
Anyway the nurse agreed to try and get me an appointment this friday and of course it's Tuesday and I've heard nothing....
I've been keeping a food/ilness diary and I don't seem to be any better on the predfoam than on the pentasa's but do seem to react to some foods which appear to have a bigger impact than any med's I'm on...

I had a call from Dr Jason Goh's nurse in Birmingham selly Oak today after i sent him an email as he published a paper on IBD and current treatments including links to food so i'm strongly considering changing to this hospital to see him, so far he can't be much more useless than the people i've seen already in the last 4 years.

Sorry Jar's I'm not really a footy fan (though I do play every week) as for music I've been listening to a great digital radio station lately - absolute radio which is rock with a lot of 90's stuff.
