Dr called, my liver counts are up again.... WHY ?

 They were high in the hospital but they thought that was from passing a galstone or the attack itself. Now I went for my yearly last week and they called and told me to go repeat my blood work that my liver and several other counts were way up again. What would cause this ? I have low grade fevers some nights like 99.5 or so for no reason.

They decided not to take the galbladder out since they couldnt see the cause of the attacks on the mrcp scan and the pains have stopped so Im confused as to wahts going on with me.

They did an ultrasound, cat scan hida scan and Mrcp scan and they looked at the Uc or chrones and didnt seem to think they were the source of the problem.

Anyone have any ideas?   I dont drink at all .

Apparently, unusual liver results are quite common with UC. I guess with some of your other indicators being up they just want to keep a closer eye on you. Sometimes it's weird how this disease goes, and they do seem to do one hell of a lot of tests on bloods etc. It's great that you don't drink, cause that's always a bummer for your liver to handle if you're otherwise unwell.

          Did you say 13 times a day????  WOW!  Or do you mean 13 pills?  I take nine Colazal a day and the doctor upped my 6MP from 50 to 75 mgm a day along with my prednisone when I saw him yesterday achieve remission after tapering off the pred.  So far, I haven't been able to do so with the 50 mgm.  My WBC was 7.1 and usually it is 3.5, therefore, he feels I can safely get by with the 75 mgm.  When I was in the hospital, my lipase was over 400 and Lipase over 200.  He immediately took me OFF the 6MP as he felt it caused pancreatitis.  However, after five days in the hospital my results returned to normal.  Now, it was either due to the terrible inflammation or some fluke in the lab.  Last week my amylase was 50 and Lipase 27, go figure.

           Looking over my Hepatic Function Panel now....everything A-OK.

Now they called and my gi is concerned the counts keep going up and down and wants to send me to
seattle to get some sort of scope done where he says tehy do somethng in your ducts adn inject dye etc adn can also cut through the duct and remove something if they see a stone of anything which the other tests have not shown.
Anyone had this done ? whats it called ? how bad was the test ? are you asleep or awake ? IM afraid Ill gag

Test is called ERCP. They treat you for the gag reflex and more or less knock you out for the procedure.

They havent even decided wht exactly my problem is yet. I havent had the scope.
Can someone who has had this test give me some info on it please?

No its not conclusive yet.  They only found an infection of my bile ducts while i was in the hospital.  The doctors in there were pretty nonchalant about explaining what that even meant at the time.  Now that I am out, my current gastro is starting the testing for me beginning with blood work to see if the liver levels are elevated, and then go from there.  Hes somewhat concerned, but right now its too early to tell anything and all i am doing is researching. 

I am hoping bile ducts can 'just' get infected and it not be PSC!!

I was wondering how much Vit. D you were taking.  My son developed pancreatitis from Imuran.  After ceasing the Imuran ,his pancreatitic enzymes came down.  about a month after that, Vitamin D started raising his pancreatitic levels again.  He was taking  1000IU of Vit. D plus 400 in his multivitamin and 400 IU more from his calcium supplements.  That amount of Vitamin D was toxic for him.  I was just asking because it might affect your liver also.
