Anyone ever taken it. My doctor prescribed it to replace the pain meds I've been on. My flare is about 90% under control, so I told him I was done taking Narcotic pain meds, but still wanted something to manage the bouts of painful cramping. He gave me a prescription for Hyoscyamine.

Ive taken 2 of them now, and it doesn't really seem to do anything for me.

I've taken it several times over about 8 years. It's used sub-lingual, right? That was the way I got the most effectiveness from it. I thought it worked fine to get through the bad abdominal pain, esp. those that hit while on the potty and you couldn't wait for regular oral meds to get into your system.

It didn't do anything for me either.  Still have pills left over from a year ago when I was on it for a while.  Guess it's one of those meds that works for some, but not for others.  Tramadol is a pain reliever I use that isn't a narcotic, but does help with the cramping if you want to look into it.

Thanks for the info. Maybe Ill try a double dose tonight. If it doesnt do anything, then Ill call the doc and ask to try Tramadol instead.

It helps me a lot but not for serious pain. It is good for the cramping and spasms... you know the days where you just keep feeling like you have to go but don't anymore? Works great for that. It can make you drowsy and dizzy the first few days you take it but you will get used to it. I use it PRN but some people take it three times a day every day. I heard there was a shortage b/c the drug companies stopped making the generic ones. Did you have trouble getting it?
