I have the same issue. I have been in remission since may 2007 (on imuran and asacol) and the blood returned about
a week ago. I was - and am devastated by its return and frightened that I may end up as sick as I was a year and a half a go (6 weeks in hospital, 2 rounds of intravenous cylclosporin, predinsone and a blood transfusion).
Like you, I have no other symptoms- just plently of blood with each bm (1 or 2 day). Although my doc is away he prescribed cortifoam. So far, no improvement. Althought truthfully, I think the stress has been the worst aggravator of all. Stress=more blood=more stress=more blood.
I will be seeing my doc next week- but in the mean time, saw a naturopath and started an Anti-inflammatory supplement (mostly tumeric) and something called DGL as well as fish oil and probiotics. I started bio-k today on the advice of a friend. I'm hoping it will help.
I think I need to chill out more than anything. Every trip to the washroom is like a horror show- not sure if its a lots of blood or not- but it looks like a lot. I am trying to stay postive- and lucky I am feeling as good as I am- but I'm fighting the anxiety and depression of the diseases's return. I know the best answer is to stay positive and to take care of myself.
My husband and I desperate to conceive and this flare just feels like one more obtacle in our way (we've been trying for three years). I wish you luck and would love to know how you're doing or get advice from others.
