remicade with a cold??

I know you are not supposed to get an infusion if you have active infection but what if its just a slight cold? I've started to get the sniffels and an oh so slight scratchy throat. I'm scheduled for Remicade on tuesday and really don't want to postpone it if I don't have to?

When i had my first infusion ( via a & e ) i had a cold and they werent concerned at all .

although each time i go now they do a pee test for infection , so i guess if you clear that then you should be okay . Wont hurt to ring the ward / IBD Nurse

Just out of interest did you have your dose increased to 10mg per kg or was it always that dose ?

I was started out at 10mg/kg. I was in pretty bad shape then. GI was talking surgery.

I am taking zicam also. I know it's helping because the cold isn't getting any worse as it usually would by now.

Zicam is an over the counter cold remedy; all natural, but swear it works wonders for me. I even bring it in to work and give it to people who are just starting cold symptoms and they can't believe how well it works. It's like individual swabs with a gel on it and you swab it in your nose.
