Flu Vaccine

Hi All..
Ive had UC for 10years or slightly more, no treatment seem to work up until last year when i was admitted to hospital for steroid therapy, which did make a difference!.. I was clear, no blood/mucus/wind!.. we all no the symptoms. Now after a flu vaccine which was recommended (due to the meds which im on) by my gp i can see blood again. Is this the end of the clear run which ive had??..will my health deteriorate again? is it possible its due to the vaccine?..

Im thinking of trying the probiotics also, any tips would be good. Thanks in advance!!!

azithiroprine 125 mg per day.

    If this continues I would try rectal meds too in addition to the probiotics.  Good luck.

Hi, I posted about this a few weeks ago. I was also advised by my GP to have the flu vaccine due to being on azathioprine within 1 week it was like I was flaring (I had the pneumonia vaccine too).  A number of people replied to my post to say that it was probably just a coincidence as the vaccine is not live.  I say it was due to the vaccine. I am not medically trained and could be way off the mark here but as it is our immune system that supposedly causes our problem I feel that you get the vaccine our immune systems starts to try to fight it which in turn may send it a bit loopy and make us flare.  Your immune system then settles down and we are immune to the flu.  It takes 10 days for us to be immune to flu so during this time I think our systems will be out of sync a little.  I can say that after about 2 weeks my flare settled but then I was using predsol aswell.

Since I had the flu shot a 6 weeks ago I have been having flu symptons that don't go away.  Still in minor flare. Colitis did get worse about a week after getting the shot but has improved in the past 2 weeks.
