Hair loss?

I had very bad hair loss last summer after a bad flare and pred taper.  The whole top of my head was sore for at least three months.  I took Biotin to make my hair stronger (still taking it now).  My hair did stop falling out, but only after I cut down my dosage of Asacol, which I had upped for the flare as well.  I assumed it was from the Asacol and not the pred side effects, but no one seems to know for sure.  It will get better, though.

I noticed within a two or three weeks much less loss and new growth within a month. I would be very cautious with the scalp treatment though if you have tenderness. At first it caused some redness when applied and not really stinging but sort of mildly. My scalp was not tender so I'd just use a little of that to see how it goes. The first set my s-i-l gave me had the scalp treatment and I'm still using that up, ran out of conditioner but using the cond from the second set. I'm also taking silica to help with hair, skin, and nails too.

I can't remember if I lost more than normal when I started using the nioxin or not. I was losing ALOT, like at least a handfull a day. I would brush my hair before showering to get the loose stuff out so not so much would end up in the drain too but it still came out in the shower. Yes, the tingling is normal I'm assuming. I would definately wait until you no longer have the tenderness to try the scalp treatment.

Hi im also loosing hair, almost a year after predisone, currently remicade.
So i was researching the different shampoo mentioned here, thanks for that info,
and searching the local drugstore i found a page about hair loss,
it mentions this particular drug for hair loss, but it mentions that it will Not work for
people with IRON deficiency or cancer treatment... well there ya go, Iron is low with me, so perhaps thats the cause... lots of articles on that search "Iron hair loss" a youtube video by a woman that says she lost a lot of hair and then got it all back with this Coal based shampoo called Sebcur/T, i may give that a try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X38z83Hl-k also found this page about Remicade, stating that a woman lost all her hair and eye browse, hopefully thats just a rare case. http://www.drugs.com/sfx/remicade-side-effects.html
