Enemas and nausea

Hi - just wondering if anybody else finds that enemas make them really nauseous?
I can't seem to deal with them very well. I'm on Pentasa enemas once a day now (down from twice after I taked to my doc) and immediately after applying it i start to feel really really sick. This feeling goes away as soon as I run to the bathroom & it's gone from my system, but they also make me vomit sometimes.
Has anyone else found this??

Yes, when I was on Rowasa I started to get nauseas, severe abdominal pains - basically a flu like feeling. That is when I realized that I can not do mesalamines anymore. Are you ok on Pentasa though?

Since I went down from two to one a day I've found that thay're easier to deal with. I'm on oral Pentasa as well but seem to be fine taking those

It could be that you were absorbing just too much of the medication. So if you are seeing improvement on one a day with no ill effects then it's best to use less medication when possible.

Thanks - this is all new to me, so it's good to have somewhere to ask about these things, esspecially from people who've really know what they're talking about from experience

I took mesalamine enemas for several months last year and felt flu-like, had worse D, and stomach aches. They worked, in the end, though. That was when I realized mesalamine was not for me, the side effects were debilitating.
