i am just say that im new to message boards and chats.  i know now that i cant beat this alone.  so i have UC since 2003.  recently had a flare and found that it has spread to my left side.  im on pentasa and canasa, but my dr wants me to be on enemas.  i dont think i can handle them!  but i am going to try to have a baby later this year and was looking for any kinds of suggestions with everything!

m too sailing in same boat, since we have decided to try for a baby this year- doctors have started discovering chronic diseases in my body one after another :-( First - thyroid, then UC !
But as far as i know, you will have no problems in having a baby due to UC, it's better to get it in remission and then try for baby.

Enemas aren't as bad as you might think. I was quite wary of them & had a bit of a bad experience at the start (every time I took them I'd throw up). But I've worked out the dosage & they do help.
I'd suggest giving them a try & if they don't work for you you can always stop taking them :)

Welcome to the forum Pinkdwarfstar! I know the enemas seem daunting, but they really do help....we have a saying here from one of our forum members...treat from both ends! And for most folks it does help. We are glad that you joined us; you'll find a bunch of great and informative people on this forum plus some great support! Again, welcome!

I did fecal transplantation with my granddaughter's poo when she was a baby. It immediately put me in remission during my second flare when I was having trouble getting off of Prednisone.
