hI,

I was wondering if people have become immune to Enemas ??? my colitis respondes well to enemas but when i've stopped taking them im finding it harder to regain remission again. like im more immmune to them. I stupidly stop taking my Salofalk 4g/daily cold turkey after 4 month of feeling almost perfect !

i was on pred suposotris befroe this, but these became less effective after some months.

I have a couple of weeks of pred enemas stored away, should i use these to try get into remissing again, then switch tback to my regular salofalk,

I dont really have time at the moment to be taking 2 per day as recommended for a flare, {work + active lifestyle}

I have only taken mesalamine oral and enemas and suppositories. I have also been on Colazol. It does seem to me when I start a new drug it works great for a few months and then slowly loses its efficacy. I have no idea why this might be, it is just my personal experience.

Hi Notch000, and welcome to Healingwell! We are glad you joined us. If you feel like you might not be getting the same effect from the meds you are on, maybe you could call your doctor and talk with him/her and discuss another treatment option. -I was already on pentassa for 12 months, no good for me!
-various doses of pred 40mg tapering, quicky became resistant and are no use now
-immuran 175mg for 18 months, stoped taking as i feel its no imorovement since started taking
-also took pred suposotries for 6months but became resistant to these too

-currently on immuran(just stopped), salofalk 1x4mg enema / night & 4x800mg asacolon,
i had been feeling well but have recently flared again(mildly), just some gas, cramps, bloody muc
My GI wanted me to start remicade but im not interested now as im changing job, moving home and planing on doing some forign travel, etc
i dont know where to go from here!!!!
oh ya i didnt drink since before xmas too !!!! longest ever, trying to work on diet more seriously too, also leaing job i hate,

I have 3 months to get sorted before i head travelling for 10weeeks.....bit of a project my health
