Hi. Havent been on since my last flare, spring/summer of '06. Started flaring again about
a month ago and started looking for new treatments. The Mayo Clinic has an article about
lactibacillus being used as a suppository.
This is what it said:
Doses that have been used for vaginal infections include 1 to 2 tablets (containing 10 million to 1 billion CFU in each tablet), inserted into the vagina once or twice daily. Capsules containing 1.5 grams of Lactobacillus acidophilus have been used to treat diarrhea as anal suppositories.
It has a whole article. It talks more about using it as a treatment for vaginal infections but it says they tested it as a rectal suppository, also. I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of or tried this? I just thought this might sound promising.
Thanks
