I have been given some nutritional guidelines from an alternative doctor. All of them recognised in this forum, except one that I haven't read about

As I do a lot of exercise and also weight training she says I need a bit more protein. She recommends that I take a protein powder supplement.
She recommend pea protein powder. Later I could go on whey protein.
I was once told that it is not documented that the body is actually able to obtain these protein powders.
What's your take?
