high hopes

Just wanted to share...... I just had my FOURTH bowel movement of the day!! Since last year, I'd have four BM's within the first hour of waking up and would have had at least 10 by this time of day! Best of all, it was kind of urgent and there was some burning in my stomach but I was actually able to ignore it for a few minutes while I finished what I needed to do at my computer instead of throwing my stuff down and bolting for the toilet.

I also haven't noticed any blood except for a little pink on the TP in the past two days, as opposed to the copious amounts that had been coloring my water red. I really hope this is a sign for good things to come with Remicade. I go for my second infusion next Thursday.

I can't share this with anyone else without people thinking I'm a weirdo, so I just had to get it out where I know people would understand

 

Yahoo EK! That's great news. The hardest part for me after getting to remission was to make my brain realize that the urgency wasn't "horrible" urgency anymore. It was a strange feeling. Good luck and keep us updated on how things are going.

I share it with my parents as well mainly because they ask- my mom gets more specific and doesn't mind details, but my dad always throws it in after asking me about my day, my finances, my dog, and then "And how is your.. other stuff going?" Haha.

Great news edie!  I have been having a little success with prednisone - after trying everything else and getting worse - it is finally nice to get some better, huh?  Hope it continues for both of us.

As for talking about it with family and friends - I have a sister who will isten - not sure she wants to but will.  We only get to talk on the phone so maybe that is easier, I don't know.  My husband is supportive but never asks questions - I am sure after 47 years he knows when I am doing good or not!!

So great that we can share all details here on the forum.  Only you guys would understand after being on prednisone for 6 days I had the flashlight in the toilet looking at a normal bm and seeing NOT EVEN ONE SPECK of blood this morning!  How exciting (but only to those who understand). Told my husband of all these years and he said "that is good" and went on to watch his news program!!  hee hee

I sure know what you mean.  IN the last year I have always taken Imodium when going out because I knew I would have urgency, D, etc. if I didn't.  Now because of winter weather have been home mostly taking the prednisone and not really needing Imodium but feel I will probably want to take it although I may not need it - yikes - hard decision and anxious about it.  You are right - when we feel better it is great after "living with" the DD so long as it was - day to day! Just hope this continues and soon I can adjust to going out relaxed and enjoy my day more.

That's great. Your post reminds me of sitting at my PC with my headset on and getting that urge. LOL, I jumped up and ended up with the cord wrapped around my leg tearing the cord out of my headset and utterly destroying it. The things we never tell, lol.
