Higher dosage of Remicaid?

Hi everyone, I was on the standard dosage of remicaid, 5 kg per something and I was 100% for 2 years on it. Apparently I am immune to it now, so my Dr. recommended I boost the remicaid to 10kg ifirst before trying humira. Anybody in the same shoes as me?

Yes, many people have done this, some with success and other not. I think you'll just have to try it and see if it works for you. Also, some have tried shorter intervals between infusions such as instead of every eight weeks, they will go every six or seven. Are you on any other meds? You might want to try a Rowasa enema to get you over the hump and back into remission.

After one year on remicade it has stopped working for me, My GI upped the dosage then went to every six weeks, now he wants to try cimzia, he said humira won't work if the remicade stopped working. He also said to go consult a surgen because he has tried all the drugs and they don't work anymore.

How much do u have to pay for your Remicaid?  And i'm sorry your going thur this.  But i haven't found any meds that have helped either.  So i say to u Good Luck

My GI won't up the dose, but he will shorten the intervals between infusions. I am going every six right now (thank goodness it's covered 100% by my insurance).

yup, my dose was upped & my intervals were shortened a while ago- it worked well at the lower dose for about 9 months, then I just lost responsiveness completely. So we upped the dose to the 10mgs/kg, & I go every 6-8 weeks. I try to go every 6-what usually happens is that I have 2 bad weeks, right before & right after the infusion, then 4 ok weeks. I've noticed the duration of the med shortening though. Whatever... after this, it's Humira (if I can get it covered) or surgery.
