Are you in Australia - or do you travel there for the transplants?
Hi Ian,
Neither one. I did it myself using my granddaughter's feces. She was breast feeding at the time; so it was very easy. I just mixed the gooey yellow poo with warm water, put the mixture in a syringe, and put the mixture up my butt. Nothing to it.
I think some are worried about
getting diseases from poo, but I really didn't see that as a risk since my granddaughter was only six months at the time. For some reason, people don't mind sharing all kinds of stuff, but when it comes to poo, they get scared. A guess it's the fact that very few people have tried fecal transplantation that scares them.
Anyway, the fecal transplantation put me immediately into remission; however, I got another flareup after being on antibiotics again. Something to take into consideration when getting fecal transplantation. You might need it again if you have to take antibiotics again.
Fecal transplantation works best for those who have been heavy users of antibiotics. It's also best to do it when you aren't flaring too badly. And I used the feces right away before any of the bacteria had a chance to die.
