Hey everyone!  I've posted awhile back on this forum back in 2007 when I had my last flare up.  Since then, I've been placed on Xanax, which I take a couple times a week to help me sleep.  Does anyone know if there are any contraindications of taking prednisone (which I started today 40mg) and Xanax?  Also does anyone know if there are any contraindications of taking Adderall and prednisone?  And my final question, when taking the Rowasa enemas, how often do yall take them?   I started taking them last night and planned on taking them at bedtime every night till symptoms subside and then wean.  Is this correct?    Thanks very much in advance!                               Josh

My NP told me to UP my doseage to max on Xanax when I started prednisone.  I already was taking low doses Xanax for anxiety.  I take up to 3 .025 a day because prednisone works on those nerves. It helps a lot for me anyway.

my primary care doc broke out the script pad for xanax so fast when i told him the pred dose i was on...

Wow!   So I guess its okay to take xanax and pred!   Thanks yall!    Does anyone know about adderall?

My GI gave me a Rx for xanax b/c the pred was giving major panic attacks. I haven't taken one yet b/c I am still breastfeeding. I'm looking forward to taking one!

Adderall and Prednisone should be fine to take together. I'm currently on both (although I don't take the Adderall all the time). The only concern my doc had was that being on both could be exacerbating the insomnia I get from the Pred.

I just got put on Pendinsone for Posion Ivy and i am on my frist night. i couldnt sleep at all and then once i did fall alseep i woudl have intense panic attacks. i look up to see if i could take my Xanax with it and this site is so helpful. I already have panic attacks but this was more intense then ever and it is only the frist night. tahnks for all the info everyone left!!! i also feel short of breath and i dont want to talk to anyone. i am in customer service and ever time i answer the phone i am real short with everyone. i cant wait to get off of it

Really?
I pushed an ER physician to give me something when I was told to go back on prednisone, but he wouldn't budge. I was pretty mad actually.
I said, something to help sleep? No.... you will get hooked.
Something for the anxiety? Nah, just exercise....
I wanted to punch him in the face! hahahaa!!

But that was a while back :) glad you guys found something to help manage more easily

     Josh, I was able to take xanax (I took the generic form) while on prednisone but my primary doctor only gave me the lowest dosage available.  When I was hospitalized for dehydration last summer (had a total colectomy with end ileo on June 28th) about a month after my operation, they gave me double the dose I usually took..lol...wow, did it ever knock me out!  Felt good to finally be able to sleep though.
