How long of a hospital stay did it take to control your UC?

I was in the hospital last week for 2 days. I got rehydrated and solu-medrol and was still going 10+ times a day when I was discharged. I was remarkably better for the next 2 days, but day by day I've been getting worse again. I'm wondering if a longer stay with IV steriods would do the trick and put me in remission. I'm on 40mg of prednisone (started 2 days before being hospitalized).

Possibly...as you can see on my signature, I was put in hospital for 3 days and was given IV steroids but they had no effect. I then ended up back in the next month cos they said I was discharged too early and not given enough rectal meds etc. This time I ended up in hospital for a week, however it did kick-start things into improving :-)

I was in hospital for 5 days while they worked out what was wrong & got me on meds. I was put on 40mg of pred, with enemas twice a day. The pred started to kick in immediately for me, but I was still going about 10 times a day when I got discharged.

I was in for 4 days. Put me on pred to jump start me back to health. I was only on pred for 2 weeks, thank God

     Last year I was in the hospital for ten days.  Not until the fourth day did they put a PIC line in.  They gave me the prednisone through the IV.  Even after my discharge from the hospital I was quite ill but I believe the doctors were more concerned that I would pick up an infection. Hospitals are not the most sanitary of places.  I was paranoid about cleanliness in there...wiped everything down with antiseptic wipes.  I would say it took several months before I felt more like myself.  I consider the date November 1st to be the day my remission started because that is the day I took my last dose of prednisone....on it for seven months...yuk!
